This program is going to start off simple. I will have a rest day on Wednesday, and Sunday each week. The reason for the set two days off is because I have seen a lot of programs that rotate which days are off, unfortunately due to my religious preferences, I am not willing to run on Sunday's. But feel free to decide any program that best suits your lifestyle.

My first week of training will start Monday May 2nd. I will start off by running two miles at a rate of 10 mins per mile or faster. This will increase after the Wed rest to three miles. Lets see how that goes for now and change if we need to.

Way to go Kendall! I think this is a great blog and it's always good motivation when you write down your goals for everyone else to see and keep you to it. :) I think you should totally go for St. George. I've heard it's a good race....and if you do a ragnar or red rock and need a extra runner - let me know!

Great idea! I think I will run too. I'll run from home to work and back ever day. Promise.

Along with a training schedule you should research running mechanics. At this point you can develop a running style that will prevent a lot of overuse injuries. I just bought "Born to Run" you can borrow it when it gets here so you can read it in between semesters. You should look into the pose method.
